The D3 form of vitamin D: an essential nutrient for normal bones, muscle function and immune function.
What it is
Vitamin D3 is also called cholecalciferol. It is one of the forms of vitamin D used in food supplements. D3 can come from different sources; our vegan D3 complex uses a plant-based lichen source.
The calcium connection
Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus. It is a natural partner for calcium in a combined mineral formula.
Understanding the units
Vitamin D may be shown in micrograms or international units. One microgram equals 40 IU, so 50 micrograms and 2,000 IU describe the same quantity.
Why we use it
Vitamin D contributes to normal immune function and the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function. It also helps with normal calcium absorption. We use vegan vitamin D3 in our D3 mineral complexes, with further options across our combined formulas.
- Maintenance of normal bones
- Normal muscle function
